Your Questions About Mother Daughter Book Club Series

Joseph asks…

Books for a thirteen year old girl?

I am a thirteen year old girl and really need help finding books. I love books and reading, but it seems like when I go to the bookstore, there’s just nothing there for me anymore. There are a few series that I like, but once I read the new books that come out in those, it is like there is nothing to read.

I lovelovelove the Canterwood Crest books by Jessica Burkhart, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, and Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks by Lauren Myracle, The Wedding Planner’s Daughter series by Coleen Paratore, The Mother Daughter Book Club series, and many more books like that. If you have any reccomendations, please let me know – I would really appreciate the help.

Also, if they could be age appropriate without being overly childish, which I know is really hard, that would be a really nice added bonus.

Thank you!

Mary asks…

In the book “The Joy Luck Club”, by Amy Tan, it is just a series of stories from the mothers and daughters?

When I check out the book I thought it was going to be something like “The Kitchen God’s Wife”. Could some1 tell me, if so, without telling me the ending.

richmama answers:

The story is about mothers and daughters, and their relationships to each other. It intertwines many times, and at times this can make reading it somewhat confusing, but believe me it is a good read!

A few good books for me…?

I am a 12 year old heavy reader, and I can’t think of any other books to read! Do you have any suggestions?

I have read the following books/series and I really enjoyed them:
-Twilight Saga (by Stephanie Meyer)
-The Mediator Series (by Meg Cabot)
-Wait Til Helen Comes (by Mary Downing Hahn)
-Night World Series (by L.J. Smith)
-The Last Song (by Nicholas Sparks)
-Dear John (by Nicholas Sparks)
-A Walk to Remember (by Nicholas Sparks)
MotherDaughter Book Club (by Heather Vogel Fredrick) — I will be getting the other two books in the series soon.
-Lock and Key (by Sarah Dessen) — In the middle of it now 🙂 it’s a good book so far.
-Jinx (by Meg Cabot)

As soon as I can get my hands on them, I will be reading these books:
-Dreamland (by Sarah Dessen)
-Just Listen (by Sarah Dessen)
-Keeping the Moon (by Sarah Dessen)
-Someone Like You (by Sarah Dessen)
-That Summer (by Sarah Dessen)
-The Truth About Forever (by Sarah Dessen)
-This Lullaby (by Sarah Dessen)

Also I have tried reading these books/series, but failed because of disinterest:
-Harry Potter Series (by J.K. Rowling) — Got through 100 pages of the first book.
-Vampire Diaries (by L.J. Smith) — After the first book, I stopped.
-1800-Where-R-You Series (by Meg Cabot) — After the first book, I stopped.

All is appreciated 🙂
I have also tried to read The Host by Stephanie Meyer, I got about 100 pages into the book.
